Sierra Romero is a professional softball player from Murrieta, California, who is widely regarded as one of the top players in the sport. She was born on March 16, 1994, and grew up playing softball with her sisters, who also went on to play college softball. Romero played college softball at the University of Michigan from 2013 to 2016, where she had an outstanding career as a shortstop. She set numerous records during her time at Michigan, including the NCAA record for career runs scored (300) and the Big Ten record for career batting average (.441). She was also a three-time Big Ten Player of the Year and a four-time All-American. After college, Romero was drafted second overall by the USSSA Pride in the National Pro Fastpitch league.
